6. The building was built to create diverse growing conditions for plants.
7. I chose the Eden Project because of the structure and its purpose. This greenhouse complex consists of several domes to create diverse growing conditions to benefit plant life. The Eden Project reminded me of bubble wrap, that is why I was so interested in this building.

6. The building was built with horizontal surfaces to help with vegetation.
7. I chose the Hundertwasser's building because of the building unique structure. This architecture was intriguing to me because of the U-shape is and the fact that there are plants growing on the roof. I also picked this building because of its beautiful colors. The art on the building has many different layers with a unique pattern.

7. I chose this the Habitat 67 building because of the very unique architecture. To me this building looks like a puzzle waiting to be solved. This puzzle building consists of 158 apartments and is growing. I also wanted to learn why the building was built this way.

6. This building was built as a retreat made of natural resources.
7. A stone house intrigued me. Once I did some research I liked how the whole house was made of stone, even the furniture inside this cozy retreat. Because this is such an isolated and unique home there have been many robbery attempts and there have been many people come and bother the Stone House owners.

6. This building was built to illuminate the Polish fairytale illustration by Szancer and Dahlberb.
7. I chose the Krzywy Domek building because of the Crooked House name it was given. This name was intriguing to me, so when I found the building I wanted to learn more about it. The house looks like it is being squeezed in the middle and has a interesting glass window in the middle. Inside this building is the home to many shops, restaurants, and a radio station.

WARM-UP: Sensory Overload

"I believe that more and more, we are defining our environments not as the spaces themselves, in terms of the buildings or architecture, but rather by the objects and devices that we buy and surround ourselves with. ... I would like that message to carry through universally," Seymour said.

1. I believe this conclusion is accurate, so I do agree with the statement. As a photographer this made me realize that what I'm trying to capture in a photograph, the message I am trying to get across is the most important aspect.

2. After looking through the photographs it did make me want to take my own pictures in the store.

3. If I was a child of someone who worked there in that store it would be like heaven, because I would get to be there all the time.

4. My favorite photograph is the picture of the flower room. This photograph has a wide variety of beautiful vibrant colors, thousands of flowers, and a worker sitting by her little booth.

Raising cultural awareness with music, food, art, and alliance by Fuaad Ajaz
The article "Raising cultural awareness with music, food, art, and alliance" was written by Fuaad Ajaz to bring awareness of the important African-American people of America and the month long holiday of celebrating their culture. He explains how Bowie High school supports this holiday along with Multiracial Awareness Club leader, Joyce Brisco and wants to bring awareness to the black culture by having luncheons and other club events. Staff members of Bowie share their experiences or racism effecting them and the true meaning of black history and its importance. Black History Month is just another way to remind others that African-Americans fought their way to equality were an important part of our American History.

The lead sentence did make me want to keep reading.


"Super Mario Run": Game's purple coins not enough  by Jake Brien
Nintendo's newest app "Super Mario Run", although fun and addicting was a let down to the community and the Nintendo's profits. This addicting game was unveiled to be one of the best, but did not get that attention, only 1.5 million of the 40 million downloaders bought the game. This letdown get the money or hype the Nintendo community wanted.

Behind the scenes of The Who's Tommy musical by Shelby Papst
Bowie High Schools 2017 production of "The Who's Tommy" musical took a lot of hard work and stress. Students and Staff at Bowie talked about their experiences, biggest challenges, and what it was all about. This group of people made the set and props all by hand and had to wait till last minute for some, which made it even more stressful. Overall the students thought this project was stressful but inspirational.

PHOTOGRAPHS

A3- The first image of the science fair participants I felt was too dark and had too much going on. Although it was not the best quality of a photo I felt it added the needed information for the page, the science fair. The main subject of this photograph was the judge of the science fair.

B2- This image of Dawson Warnken working out in the weight room I felt was a good image with a clear subject that added the needed value to the page. The photograph used simplicity color wise and balance.

B5- The Who's Tommy collage was perfect for the story of the musical, it added all the characters and their smiles. These photos were all taken with different lighting, some are light while others are dark.

A8- The pictures of Kate Scrubbs doing gymnastics added the skills she has as a gymnast. All the photographs had a clear subject and had some simplicity. I felt that some of the images didn't have enough lighting which made the image dark.

B8- The Women's human rights page I felt had great photos showing the story. These images had a clear subject with the perfect amount of lighting, using some cropping and mergers. The main subject of these photographs was women and the signs of equality.

My favorite photograph of the article was the second image on B7. This photograph of Matthew Lane had a clear subject using simplicity and an in-motion shot. I liked this photo a lot because the camera captured the expression on Matthew's face and was overall a great photograph.

My least favorite photograph of the entire paper was on A2 of the new principal. I felt this image was too boring and didn't give the paper too much.

If I was on the new paper staff I would want to go shoot the "The Who's Tommy" musical. I feel that would be the most fun to shoot because you get to capture the different characters and the scenes of the show.

 Overall I would give this issue of the Bowie Newspaper a 7. I felt that some of the images were good quality and showed the subject while others were bad quality with too much going on. The stories were pretty good but some needed a better sentence starter.

FRONT PAGES OF THE WORLD

1. The Austin American-Statesmen was my favorite newspaper cover because it was the most appealing, there were bright colors, and many different images.
2. My favorite headline from the Austin American Statesmen was "CAKE ART" because it is a different bright color, it is bold, and because its about cake.
3. There are 5 of stories on the front page of the Austin American Statesmen.
4. All the newspaper have a dominant headline, dominant photograph, multiple stories, different fonts, sizes of font, have an add, and pictures on the cover.
5. The different newspapers follow different designs, are different sizes, have a different amount of stories/headlines, and different topics.
