SPORTS PORTFOLIO EVALUATION

PART 1-

1. 4 OF THE 11 RUNNER-UP VIDEOS
a. Travis Haughton
b. peoples stories
c. pictures of signs, one of two faces shown, too tight
d. multiple levels, nice moments, doesn't look staged
e. Haughton wanted to capture peoples stories and I liked it.

a. Nick Adams
b. people
c. bad framing, too many kids, not the best focus
d. strong story, headless cheerleader in the foreground, fills four corners
e. nick wanted to capture singular moments, I liked it.

a. Josh Birnbaum
b. wheelchairs and faces
c. some bad angles, didn't capture complete story, some distraction
d. nice faces, funny pictures, nice lighting
e.  Josh was capturing the different faces and emotions, I liked this one.

a. Sam Adams
b. biking and sports
c. some bad composition/ positioning, didn't capture full story, lighting
d. moody, shows all faces, action is shown
e. Sam captured the moments in biking, I liked this one the best.


2. Winning Portfolio-Dustin Snipes
a. Some strengths of Dustin's portfolio were; getting right into the action and catching the right moment.
b. Some strengths I see in his portfolio were also catching the moment, getting into the action, and his creativity. I didn't see any weaknesses.

3. Contest Recap
a. The judges looked at an over view of all the portfolios that were rememberable and looked for the best pictures.



PART 2-

1. One photograph that I agreed with the judges on was the Escalator photo, we liked it because of the lines and that the photographer caught the perfect moment.

2. One photograph that I disagreed with the judges on was the goose picture, I didn't like it as much because the red vehicle in the background bothered me and it was too tight.
